Kept by one person, slowly.
I started keeping this log the year I realised I could not name a single book I had read the previous summer. Not one. They had all gone through cleanly, leaving nothing behind but a vague sense of having been busy.
So now everything gets written down: what I'm reading, what I stopped reading, and the handful of sentences I'd want to say out loud to someone. It is not a review site. There are no scores, no stars and no recommendations unless you ask for one.
How it works
Books are read on a small grey slab that does exactly one thing. Passages get highlighted on the device and land on the Highlights page. Longer thoughts turn into Notes, usually a week or two later, once they've settled.
The setting is not the hobby. Pick a font, pick a light, and then go and read something.
What's here
Mostly novels in translation, essays about attention, and a steady undercurrent of books about water. Poetry in winter. Almost no non-fiction that promises to change my life in ninety days.
